L.A. Raid

This story is about a private detective, Lenny Samuel. One day, there was a big news, $ 100000000 was stolen from the First City Bank on Sunset Boulevard this morning. The raider put on a duck musk, and he/she escaped by a mortorbike. Then, the stolen case by duck musk have increased suddenly. Who was the laider, and why did he/she steal the big money?

I don’t like detective genre, Because there are a lot of characters in a story. Logan Series, which is in CUP, is the worst. Those are really tired. This story is too. I never have read those detective genre without Meitantei Conan.

Northanger Abbey

I read this book this weekend. This was written by Jane Austen. The author reminds me that Professor Mizuo, who belonged to our department. Because she likes Austen’s works. By the way, what do you mean Northanger Abbey? Northanger means the place name. Abbey means a monastery given to nobles. Nothanger Abbey means a noble home with a history as a Christianity. Of course, this story is around the Northanger Abbey.

The main character is Catharine Morland. She is beautiful and cheerful. She made a friend in Bath, England. Her name is Isabella. Both of them had often go to a party hold in somewhere. One day, they met a nice man named Henry Tilney in a party. Chatharine and Henry became intimate after the party. But Chatharine did not like him. I could not believe it because Henry is a rich man and handsome. If I were Chatharine, I would be with him. After all they had a celebrate for them marrying.

In the middle of the story, she found a room in Tilney house. The door caused strange circumstance. Maybe in the room, some secrets were hidden by Henry’s father, but I did not understand what they are after reading.

Little Woman

Little Women was written by Luisa May Alcott. When I took this novel in the library, I regarded it as a story about little girl. Of course, it was right. The main characters are four little girls in a family. Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy. They have each characteristic separated, and also have kindness in their mind. One day, they could not buy a present to them. But an idea stroke into their mind that they should afford a present for their mother. The story is not only about little girl but also about their growing to the good women who have a good manners and kindness.

When I take a research on the Internet about the author. She was born in a middle-class family. But the family was not rich. And they had four daughters like this story. Probably, the life she had effected to this story. “Little Women” was her father’s saying. He hoped that the children grew a woman had a good manners.  If I have a family in the future, I hope that my children grow up to good women.

The Phantom of the Opera

IMG_1113In 1890, Raoul and Philippe, who are rich brothers, came to an Opera House in Paris, and they saw Christine, who was a beautiful young singer with beautiful voice. After looking her performance, Raoul fell in love with her, and he wanted to meet her and go to her room. However, she wouldn’t let anyone come her room. By the way, the Opera House had a rumor. A ghost always appeared at Box Number 5, in the Opera house, and the ghost was called ‘The phantom of the Opera’ by some dancers and singers. Then, when she sang a song in the opera house one day, suddenly, there was no light, and suddenly, she disappeared. Then, Raoul and Persian, who knew the mystery of the phantom of the opera, tried to find her and save her from the phantom.

Today, I read the book, The Phantom of the Opera, and I didn’t find who the main character is. I had thought that one story had one main character and he/she didn’t change whole the story. But in this book, the main character changed depending on chapters. In chapter 1, the main character was Christine, and from chapter 2 to chapter 6, the main character was Raoul, then finally, from chapter 7 to chapter 11, the main character was Persian. Because of this system, I can enjoy reading it without being bored, so it is very interesting book. However, it is too short to write the original story of “The Phantom of the Opera,” so I want to watch a musical about “The Phantom of the Opera.”

Billy Budd

This book was by Herman Melville, who drew “Moby-Dick; or, The Whale.” I’ve not also read it. This time, an opportunity abof out Billy Budd came to me in a library.

William Budd is a strong young man and one of the sailors. He is really kind to everyone on a warship called HMS Indommitable meaning respect to them King.  Everyone believe him because he had warm mind and cruel attitude toward his work. However, that accident  happened. The master-at-arm, which is a kind of the police on the ship, did not like him because William Budd is different from him. He make a lie about him to the Captain. Billy Budd was irritated the action. After all, Billy gave a punch to him. Billy was punished by the Captain, even though he was a hard worker.

I think William Budd was a sun for everyone because all of them on the ship shouted angrily after he was punished. As a result, the Captain was killed by an French enemy. His last word is “Billy Budd, Billy Budd.” I am sorry that the captain regretted his judge.
